Digital Web Books with Editable Text fields
_______________________________
Editable, stand-alone electronic publications
Sydney, Australia - December 2003 DNAml PTY LIMITED (DNAml) - DNAml continues to lead innovation in the field of electronic publishing with the release of the Editable Text field feature for Digital Web Books.
Editable text fields
The new Editable Text field feature allows publishers to create Digital Web Books with text fields that can be used by recipients of the documents. Upon receiving a Digital Web Book, a user can click on a button and enter text of their choice into the relevant field. They can then opt to leave the field open for further editing or lock it. Once the field is locked it can no longer be edited. Changes may also be saved, allowing the user to return to the document from time to time to make other changes.
An example of an application for this feature may be reviewed on the following website www.webbookdiary.com.
Take a look at the annual planner and greeting ecard samples. These can be used over and over by different users and passed on to colleagues, family and friends.
What are Digital Web Books?
The inexpensive and easy-to-use DeskTop Author package produces electronic publications of small file size that may be easily emailed, viewed within a browser, made downloadable from a website or distributed on CD (or floppy disk).
Digital Web Books are packaged either as .EXE files, that can be viewed on PCs (Windows 98-XP) without a reader, or as .DNL files, that require the installation of a small reader.
The DNL Reader may either be installed using a stand-alone download or via a browser. With the latter the installation process is simplified as the browser detects whether the machine has the Reader and if not, prompts the user to install (the stand-alone installation file may be downloaded from the following link www.digitalwebbooks.com/reader).
Users viewing DWBs, navigate between pages rather like a physical book, using a simple point and click method. Index links enable quick access to others pages within the documents, while links to email and to websites, encourage further viewer interactivity.
Examples of Digital Web Books may be downloaded from the following link www.desktopauthor.com/samples
