DNAml fastest tech company in NSW
Turning the page to a new chapter
Sydney, Australia – 15 May 2003 – DNAml PTY
LIMITED (DNAml) – DNAml has received 1st place in
NSW under the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 awards.
The Deloitte Technology Fast 50 is part of a global program which
ranks over 1250 companies around the world covering all related
industry sectors - software, internet, computers & peripherals,
life sciences, communications, semiconductors, components &
electronics.
The Deloitte Technology Fast 50 ranks the fifty fastest growing
technology companies in Australia, public or private, based on percentage
revenue growth over three years (2000 to 2002).
Over this period, DNAmls’ revenue grew by an astonishing
517%.
Ian Thatcher, Leader of the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 program
said, “To make the Deloitte Technology Fast 50, companies
must have had tremendous revenue growth between 2000 and 2002, a
period when many companies were struggling to achieve single digit
growth. We at Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu applaud DNAml for their success
and for having the long-term vision to develop technologies that
change the way we work and play.”
This major achievement is particularly significant, given that
DNAml has had minimal capital investment since its inception over
three years ago; a little over $300,000 has been raised to date
from a selected handful of friendly private investors.
The first investor was business man Michael Ball, who bought his
first tranch of shares four years ago. “I was attracted by
the clear vision and strategy of DNAml and by the hard work and
determination of the management team. They are lateral thinkers,
capable of sticking to and delivering a clear vision and working
in an environment of controlled costs and minimum fuss. As a result
of this, the company has reached profitability early and has no
significant debt”, said Michael Ball.
DNAml develops electronic publishing software and its’ flagship
authoring package, DeskTop Author, produces electronic publications called Digital
Web Books that are small in file size and turn pages like a physical
book.
The aesthetic of the ePublications belies the power of the technology
behind the page turn. Progressive versions of the software have
seen rapid development in the tools and functionality the software
offers its users, however, the strict doctrine of “zero programming
knowledge required” for its use has been faithfully adhered
to.
DNAml attributes its strong growth to the broad market appeal of
its software, its customer service and its team based at Fox Studios
in Sydney.
Ease of use has been the main driver behind DeskTop Authors’
adoption in the “new user” market, with applications
of the software ranging widely from home publishing to digital photo
album creation.
A surge in demand for cost effective alternatives to printed marketing
material, has been instrumental in the rapid acceptance of the Digital
Web Book format in the electronic brochure market. Early adopters
in this market include the travel, real estate and automotive industries.
Customers in these sectors and other corporate users are now realising
cost savings derived from using the software and the benefit of
the immediacy of communication through electronic distribution.
Adam Schmidt, CEO of DNAml said, “I can see the day nearing
when eBrochures are going to seriously challenge the print format,
as the cost savings are substantial and make for a very compelling
business case.”
DNAml is not content to rest on its laurels and is on the verge
of releasing its next generation of products to cater for end users
across a variety of further fields.
