In the latest verison security update of Outlook Express in Tools > Security
> Virus protection, there is tickbox for allowing or disallowing potentially
harmful attachments to be downloaded. This can be indiscriminate in blocking attachments whether it is
a virus type or not.
It is always advisable to make sure that you have the latest updates for your virus scanner, regardless.
