Technically there is no reason why you cannot do this now. However, note that each book needs to extract the video before it can be played. A large video will take a time to extract.
This is not a limitation of the DNL reader but of the way the media players play videos. Note that if you stream a video rather that embed it, i.e. have the video in the same folder of the book or on a fast website and do not embed it, there is no delay before playing except for the inital loading of the player.
