  FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ)
Inputing non-english character sets like Chinese, Japanese, Korean, ect.

Please note that the text editor in the author only support double-byte character sets. In the text editor, you must select your character BIG5 or GB2312. It does not support Unicode character sets for input.

To input characters, just normal method of input if you are using Chinese windows or if you are using english version you need NJSTAR or RICHWIN or simular. Check that the character set in the book properties is set to the correct character set, BIG5, BG.

When you click on the unicode box in the text editor. All it does set the final packaged books to be produced in Unicode instead of BIG5/GB so they can be displayed on Unicode supported PCs. All information in the editor is saved in the DML in double byte format, i.e. GB or BIG5 then converted to unicode during the package process. When it is displayed in the editor book preview (not text editor box) it is displayed in the same way as final books, which is why you can see it there and not in the text editor box sometimes.

Note that some page elements like forms will not work properly with Korean and Turkish character sets.
